Mrs. Carolyn J. Davis, Executive Director
Role in nonprofit:
Mrs. Carolyn J. Davis serves as the Executive Director for our nonprofit. Mrs. Davis is primarily responsible for the program's overall operation, including managing the day-to-day operations. She is also responsible for developing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and leading ministry activities; ministering to the hurting and coordinating her counseling load; working as a liaison between the not-for-profit and the clientele, community, and others to address and meet their needs; scheduling and coordinating board meetings; recruiting, training and supervising volunteers; and working with the board of directors to develop bylaws, rules, articles of incorporation and the setting up organizational protocols. Mrs. Davis is also a certified biblical counselor/trainer and is on the board of directors.

Mrs. Carolyn J. Davis has 40+ years of experience in management, staff training, program development, implementation, and evaluation, conducting presentations, teaching and speaking, proposal and grant writing, and collaborating with other programs within local and State government programs, community entities, academia, and the religious community.
Past Experience:
Professionally, from 1984 to 2003, Mrs. Davis was employed by the City of Chicago Department of Public Health, where she monitored/evaluated nutrition programs, designed/implemented nutrition educational programs/materials, managed the quality assurance component of nutrition programs, and assisted with staff development. From 2003 to 2004, she was a nutrition consultant for Jane Addams Hull House Association in Chicago, Illinois, and from 2002 to 2003, she served as an adjunct professor for the University of Illinois at Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, where she taught a 400-level course entitled “Principles of Delivering Public Health Nutrition Services.” Under the leadership of two pastors, Mrs. Davis has participated in ministering to the hurting, Christian education, and promotional efforts for at least the past 27 years to improve the overall well-being of parishioners and their community. Examples of activities conducted at Providence Missionary Baptist Church include Planning, implementing, and serving as an instructor for Christian leadership schools and directing the Biblical Counseling Ministry from 2004 to 2014. She also served as a Deaconess, instructor for Discipleship Encounters, church dean for certified leadership schools, and ministry leader of the Women’s Fellowship. She also served as the Project Director for grants she wrote for a State-funded walking program (2008 and 2009) and a State-funded Heart Smart Program for women (2011).
Current Experience:
Mrs. Davis teaches at national, State, district, and local Christian education leadership schools. She also is an instructor at the Chicago Baptist Institute, a bible college. Mrs. Davis is a certified biblical counselor who has been counseling for over 20 years. Mrs. Carolyn J. Davis also mentors, does training and speaks on various topics at workshops, conferences, and retreats. She is a member of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors and a member of Olivet Baptist church under the direction of Rev. Dr. John L. Smith, where she teaches Sunday School.
Educational Background:
Mrs. Carolyn Davis holds a Bachelor of Science in Food and Dietetics and a Master’s in Public Health. She received a Christian education diploma for completing the four phases of the Certificate of Progress Program (COPP) of the Sunday School Publishing Board of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. The Chicago Baptist Institute Bible College, where Mrs. Davis is a professor, recognized her for her commitment to Christian Education with an Honorary Doctrine of Divinity. She also received certification in biblical counseling under Mt Carmel Ministries.
Mr. Keith E. Davis, Chief Financial Officer
Role in nonprofit:
Mr. Keith E. Davis serves as the Chief Financial Officer for our nonprofit. Mr. Davis manages the ministry's finances. He leads all financial administration, business planning, budgeting, and accounting. Attorney Davis also serves as our legal advisor regarding start-up and the ongoing conduct of all activities, including requirements with the Internal Revenue Service and applicable state law. Attorney Davis makes sure we are in compliance with laws and regulations. He also assisted us with incorporating and filing for 501(c)(3) status and maintaining our tax-exempt status throughout our existence. Mr. Davis also serves on a board of directors.
Expertise:
Mr. Davis has over 40 years of legal expertise. He also has 20-plus years of financial experience serving on a board where he oversaw millions of dollars and at least 500 staff, and he spent 17 years as the Chief Financial Officer at a local church congregation.
Past Experience:
Mr. Keith E. Davis served as a member of the Deacon Board and Chief Financial Officer of Providence Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member for 17 years. Mr. Davis also taught during Sunday School and at the annual Christian Education leadership school of PMBC. He also teaches men and other groups in various settings.
Present Experience:
Although retired now, Mr. Keith E. Davis has practiced law for over 40 years and is a leader in the real estate market. He was also the Chairman of the Board for a home health care agency, where he served faithfully. Mr. Davis is also a member of Olivet Baptist Church.
Educational Background:
Attorney Keith E. Davis received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Jurist Doctorate. He was admitted to the Bar in 1983.
Dr. Maurice A. Davis, M.D., Director of Fundraising
Role in nonprofit:
Dr. Davis brings grant writing experience and presentation, analytical, and leadership skills to our board. His role as a board of directors includes assisting in grant writing, program planning, training, and teaching.
Expertise:
Dr. Davis is an anesthesiologist who has published original research in medical professional journals. Dr. Davis received a Howard Hughes Undergraduate Research Fellowship in 2004 while at Princeton University, where he did research and assisted in grant writing. Dr. Davis has presented at various medical conferences, workshops, and annual meetings. Dr. Maurice A. Davis, a former Providence Missionary Baptist Church member, assisted in preparing grants for initiatives for women’s health, domestic violence, education, and urban community development from 2005 to 2010. He also served as a youth worker at PMBC from 2005 to 2009. Dr. Davis has also instructed grade school students on physical, mental, and sexual health.
Educational Background:
Dr. Maurice Davis received his M.D. from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 2011 and his B.A. in Molecular Biology from Princeton University in 2005. He also completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesiology at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. He is an Attending Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologist at Christ Hospital in Chicago, IL.
Mr. Jason L. Davis, MBA, Director of Marketing
Role in nonprofit:
Jason Davis helps with the marketing of our nonprofit. He works to attract customers to our services and donors to support our causes. He works across the nonprofit’s programs and uses all appropriate media to create innovative strategies and campaigns that inspire opportunities and assist in fundraising efforts. He uses market and internal data to set strategies and goals. He develops and implements campaigns to promote brand recognition and significantly increase enrollment in our activities.
Expertise:
Jason Davis’s marketing skills are a plus to our board. He has worked on multiple teams for various marketing projects, including promotions and marketing research, and led a team project in which they developed a promotional plan for a business. Mr. Davis has experience using marketing software such as SPSSE, writing surveys, using survey software such as Qualtrics, and writing a variety of professional business reports.
Educational Background:
Mr. Davis holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and an MBA in General Business.
Ms. Perry L. Miller, J.D., Director of Volunteers
Attorney Perry L. Miller is a knowledgeable attorney and prosecutor with multifaceted legal experience in the public and private sectors. She is highly skilled at researching and analyzing complex legal issues and administering case law. As a former Administrative Law Judge, she presided over employment hearings and issued recommended decisions.
