The Executive Director

Mrs. Carolyn Davis's unwavering commitment to God is truly inspiring. Her primary goal is to “do it God’s way, every time and in everything.”

Mrs. Davis is the co-founder and executive director of JC is the Way Ministries, Inc. This 501c3 nonprofit faith-based ministry exists to reach and equip families through Christ-centered counseling and education and focuses on presenting, training, mentoring, and counseling related to families and individuals.

She is a certified biblical counselor and a member of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors.

She served as the director of the Providence Missionary Baptist Church (PMBC) Biblical Counseling Ministry from 2004 to 2014. Other ministries she served in at PMBC included a Deaconess, instructor for Discipleship Encounters, one of the deans, and many other ministries, including the Women’s Fellowship. Currently, Mrs. Davis and her husband are members at Olivet Baptist Church, where Rev. Dr John L. Smith is their Pastor. Mrs. Carolyn Davis is a Sunday school teacher at Olivet.

Mrs. Davis's passion for ministering to women is palpable. She has had the privilege of speaking to them at fellowship meetings, women’s day services, and conferences/retreats. She knows that God has wired her to encourage and edify women and point them to Jesus Christ so that they may, first, come to know Him for themselves and, second, grow to look like Him.

She is a credentialed Dean and Instructor in the Congress of Christian Education of the National Baptist Convention, USA Inc., and the Baptist State Convention of Illinois. She is a well-sought-after teacher and professor at the Chicago Baptist Institute, where she was recognized for her commitment to Christian Education with an Honorary Doctrine of Divinity.

Carolyn Jean Davis is a speaker, author, and life coach. She is also the founder and CEO of Excited Free Living, LLC, an organization that serves people who seek to unchain themselves from the bondage of pain and walk closer to God.

Professionally, Mrs. Carolyn Davis has a rich background in public health. From 1984 to 2003, she was employed by the City of Chicago Department of Public Health, where she held several positions, her last one being a Regional Nutrition Coordinator. Her expertise was further recognized when she served as a nutrition consultant for Jane Addams Hull House Association in Chicago, Illinois, and as an adjunct professor for the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she taught a 400-level course entitled “Principles of Delivering Public Health Nutrition Services.” Mrs. Davis was also the Project Director for several women’s health programs at the Providence Missionary Baptist Church (PMBC), funded by the state of Illinois.

Mrs. Carolyn Davis has been blessedly married to Attorney Keith E. Davis for the past 40 years; they have two wonderful adult sons, Maurice and Jason.

Mrs. Davis's personal journey to faith is a significant part of her story. She came to know the Lord Jesus Christ in 1997 as her personal Savior, a transformative experience she often shares with others. As she puts it, “I have been in church all my life, but I have only been saved since 1997. I know I have truly had a heart change.”
